I usually dont do this but I have prayed steadily for the past few days. We recently had a very vicious and malicious attack on our preacher which ultimately caused him to resign. This led to several outstanding members leaving and we are suffering a terrible loss. I, first of all, am standing up to apologize to him and my church for not standing up for him and behind him out loud. God has really laid this on my heart and if it offends some, so be it. I once knew a pastor, yes Im telling it again, who when we met him had a congregation of around 50-60 people. This man was a definite man of God and he had a Board of Deacons and he had Associate Pastors who stood with him and behind him in everything and that man ALWAYS had control in that church. His church has grown behind the number we can count and is still active and serving God. I believe if God calls these people to preach, he definitely expects them to do their duty to RUN the church. We have committees, we have by-laws but we as the members, still have to trust that whatever that preacher does is for the betterment of the church. I firmly believe thats what he did. Preacher Im sorry we as the body of the church let you down. Once again, my extreme apologies and may God forgive me for not taking a stand and opening my mouth, which Im usually pretty good at.
