I usually dont engage in outright politics on my artist page, but recent events can not keep me quiet. Despite what u may believe, the struggle for civil rights is far from over, and this kind of abuse of power is nothing new to the subject matter. The Ferguson verdict is a powerful example among many of the reality of the rampant racism that has continued to infect not only our country, but the rest of the world as well. Fear and ignorance have always been the best tools of law and government to separate and control those who they consider to be the enemy. If youre still questioning why you should be angry, then they have already won, and youve got to ask yourself who the real enemy is. In Germany they came first for the Communists, and I didnt speak up because I wasnt a Communist. Then they came for the Jews, and I didnt speak up because I wasnt a Jew. Then they came for the trade unionists, and I didnt speak up because I wasnt a trade unionist. Then they came for the Catholics, and I didnt speak up because I was a Protestant. Then they came for me, and by that time no one was left to speak up.
