I usually dont post about celebrity deaths, but I had the pleasure of working with Robin Williams earlier this year on a simple half day shoot. Unlike many celebrities in similar situations, he went out of his way to introduce himself and make small conversation with me. I cant claim to know him beyond that brief few hours, but he was kind and respectful and even though on that day he was suffering through illness and low energy, he absolutely turned it on as soon as the director said action. It is especially sad to see him go as an apparent victim of depression. Mental illnesses such as depression are more common than most people realize. Depression can come on independent of circumstance or mental strength. It can tackle even the strongest of us. With proper supports it does not need to be a death sentence.
