I usually dont post on facebook but I have just about had it with the paranoia surrounding the recent CIA employee that broke his oath to secrecy and leaked information. I feel like I have been living in a damn Tom Clancy novel for the last week and Im tired of it. How quickly we forget the acts of terrorism that we as a country have had to endure. All these people spouting off about how bad it is for the government to monitor our phone records and our associations, boo hoo..... Im sure you are crying about your privacy, unless of course the life thats saved from these efforts is yours or that of your loved ones. Who gives a shit if the government knows who I call? Im a boring american, I own a small business and raise a family of 6. If the government wants to listen to my phone conversations, or track what people I talk to, then so what. The most thrilling conversation I have is about what the soccer schedule for next week is, or on occasion when my wife is gonna dress spicy for me on one of my days off. Freedom is not free, there is a cost, and if part of that cost is being open and honest about my associations with people who mean this country harm, then goddamnit tell me where to sign up and Ill send you my phone number. People crying about privacy and how facebook rules make it less private ect... stop your damn crying, you do realize that you are putting your information onto a thing called the internet? and ANYONE who wants your information can get it? Do you honestly think my name is Shawn Lafayette? or Canto? Do you honestly think that I would post pictures of myself and my family on the internet for any purpose? Hell no. I have been a police officer for 15 years and I wouldnt dream of putting my personal information, photos of my family ect... out there for any prick I busted on a dope charge to look me up. For all you constitutional thumpers out there, keep in mind that the United States is an open records country. I can get your license plate#, file an open records request and get your driving history, from that, your DL# from that your address, employment information, I could dig through your trash and get everything I need to get a credit card, or anything else I need. Dont even get me started on the internet, everytime you visit a website, they take digital information about you from your IP address, plant cookies into your computer and track your every online move. Privacy? if you want privacy move to the damn mountains, live off the grid in a cabin where you live off of bush meat and fish. If you want to live in the modern tech world of today, then dont cry about privacy!
