I very much doubt there is even remotely a problem with any staff not being able to communicate in English properly. The General Medical Council already requires applicants to demonstrate they are competent in using the English language, and have the power to direct any doctor to undergo a language assessment, should a serious concern be raised. And for professional stuff from within the EU, the EU Directive (2005/36/EC) on the Recognition of Professional Qualifications - Article 53 - Knowledge of languages, requires controls to ensure that professions with patient safety implications are competent in the official language of the host Member State. independent.co.uk/news/uk/politics/nigel-farage-says-ukip-would-get-rid-of-foreign-nhs-workers-who-cant-speak-english-properly-9956190.html
