I very rarely get serious on Facebook, but here I go...for what it is worth. I was just reading an article in the New Journal about Delaware being asked to help with some of the homeless children who are at the border who had escaped from poverty and violence. My skin literally crawled as I read how from the governor on down explained how we dont have room for these children. QUOTE FROM THE ARTICLE: Delaware Senate Minority Whip Greg Lavelle, R-Sharpley, said the state should be wary of accepting children who crossed the border illegally, saying that taxpayers could ultimately be forced to support nonprofits that shelter them. Their presence in Delaware could prove costlier in other ways, including by pressuring the public school system, Lavelle said. “Obviously, the draw to the United States from malfunctioning countries continues to be strong,” Lavelle said. “But one thing we can count on is whatever the federal government says they’re going to do, they won’t do it. We will be stuck caring for these individuals and families. They will leave us dealing with the aftermath.” I am not particularly religious but if anyone upstairs is watching us or if Karma is alive and well, we are in for a deep bunch of do-do! It makes me think of the bumper sticker: What would Jesus do? I think it is pretty obvious what Jesus would do. It seems that we have become a selfish, amoral society where there is room for no one but me. Just spouting, but that is how I feel today.
