I visited Heather and Zach at The Womans Hospital of Texas in Houston today. Updates: - Blake is now 12 inches long and 1 pound 5 ounces and growing. He will be in the Nicu unit until he reaches five pounds. He is currently breathing through a breathing tube. He can breathe on his own but he is having a hard time breathing deeply enough to give his body the amount of oxygen it needs. He cant seem to get enough of his jaundice lamp! His eyes are still sealed shut and will continue to develop. His skin is paper thin so Heather and Zach can lightly touch Blake but not rub him. Any abrasive movement could cause damage to the skin. He has ten fingers and ten toes and we are so thankful for him! - Heather is still in the Hospital recovering from the Preeclampsia and the high blood pressure. She is more than ready to be released. However her body is not quite agreeing with her mindset. In order for her to be released her blood pressure needs to lower and she needs to continue resting. Hopefully, She will be released tomorrow morning. -Heather and Zach currently have nowhere to stay when they begin visiting Blake on Monday. Please ask around and contact your friends and family in Houston. We are looking for a place that they can stay during this time so that they can be close to Blake. - The Nicu is one of the best in the country and we are very hopeful that Blake will not only survive but be one healthy happy little guy! - Prayer is vitally important! Please be praying for Blakes overall development. Specifically, his eyes, skin, lungs and heart. Please be praying for peace and comfort for Mommy and Daddy and all other parties involved. Also, for financial support and a place to stay.
