I voted no on #HR10, which reauthorizes the federal governments charter schools program through 2020. This bill follows in the footsteps of No Child Left Behind, Race to the Top, and Common Core. It provides federal grants to states and charter schools that meet certain federal requirements. Under the Bush and Obama administrations, the federal government has assumed greater control of education through bribes in the form of federal grants. These efforts are setting the stage for a complete federal takeover of education. I support local, parental control of education.
