I voted yes on the Blumenauer of OR Amendment to #HR4486, which prevents enforcement of a Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) policy that prohibits VA medical providers in states with legal medical marijuana programs from discussing medical marijuana with their veteran patients. Overturning this policy does not allow medical marijuana to be prescribed by VA providers or paid for with VA funds; nor does it allow the consumption of medical marijuana on VA property. This common sense amendment simply allows veterans to seek the advice of their primary care physicians at a VA facility regarding the use of medical marijuana. The amendment was not agreed to 195-222.
