I walked out of a new doctors office this morning because they said I couldnt see the doctor unless I signed my right to a jury trail away. I immediately called my Obgyn, an amazing doctor who delivered Liam and who has been practicing for 34 years, delivered over 6000 babies and never had 1 lawsuit brought against him, yet his malpractice insurance cost $4000 a month. He said he does not refuse to see patients if they wont sign the arbitration agreement, but that the malpractice insurance company Its put a lot of pressure on doctors to have patients sign them. Instead he talks to them, explains it and why. THAT is the kind of doctor I want for my hard earned money. He gave me a referral. I know sometimes I am a pain in the ass, but really we are so passive about signing away our rights to just anyone. We should stop doing that. Side note, I would absolutely sign that same paper for my Obgyn, because a I trust him.
