I want to address something directly. Some who oppose me in my race for state representative have referred to my children and occupation as distractions to being able to adequately represent the people of my district. They say these elements of my life impede service. Since the these people have never so much as spoken to me personally much less understand my distractions, allow me to make 2 observations: #1- Working and raising a family is what most people in our district do. It is not a distraction but rather powerful reminder of all that is at stake. To send someone to Nashville without this is to send someone with no direct roots or consequences. #2- Everything that I have tackled in my life I have done so with excellence. My personal and professional history displays that I am never distracted, never impeded but always determined to make a difference. Suggesting otherwise is naive if not blatantly dishonest. I understand this is politics but I will not apologize for having to work to feed a family that God called me to have. I will be a father, friend, and professional as well as your state representative. #LongButNecessaryPost
