I want to ask about advice and experience for keeping us hounds out of animal control: My mum witnessed a rather bad accident today at the dog park. The people were mostly okay, but they were hurt badly enough to be transported to the hospital in ambulances. Since they were coming to the dog park, the dogs were in the car with them. The dogs were unharmed (thankfully) but the police took them to animal control. yikes! my mum asked if she could take them instead, the police asked if she knew the dogs. when she replied that she did not, they said they must go to animal control I am wondering aloud how to avoid this, such that if my parents are in an accident and have to be transported, that somehow the police or someone knows to come get me and not let me or Aidan or Hesby go to animal control. I know the folks there do as good a job as they can, but seriously, I want to avoid that place at all costs, and I know my parents want that too. We are chipped and have multiple contact numbers on that. our parents have tags with their phone numbers, but at that point, we all feel like wed be at animal control where they are figuring out who to contact.
