I want to commend Kaeshi Chai on creating her extensive ECHO - TopicsExpress

I want to commend Kaeshi Chai on creating her extensive ECHO Conference, a feat of marketing genius. It is, however, unfortunate that it has been scheduled on the same days that I do my annual Intensive over Labor Day weekend, which has traditionally been my intensive date for the past 10 years. This is one of the reasons NY has a terrible rep around the country -- conflicting events, dancers undercutting each other, stealing jobs, lack of respect and consideration with scheduling. Even though we have a NY Events calendar, it is incomplete and not all-inclusive. Its not the same situation as when we were fortunate to have Stella Greys wonderful BD New York. If you want to truly learn our beautiful dance with master teachers, do come to our intensive! And have an opportunity to study with one of the greatest oriental dancers on the planet, Eva Cernik. As one local professional observed, Everyone should see Eva. Just watching her dance is an education. And at one of our events, Serena Wilson came backstage and told Eva she was the greatest dancer she had ever seen. I am also excited to have Richard Khuzami drumming at my zills and rhythm class on Thurs, August 28, and Jean C. Jean Musacchio assisting in my Floor Workshop on Sunday, August 31. We have other exciting workshops, too, which are all posted on my website. In the meantime, here is a sample of Evas Art of Flying Silk, excerpted from her exquisite performance at my Town Hall event in 2003, where she is executing the signature move she invented, what I call the flying carpet, which has become a standard move in our field. She will be teaching this on Sat. Aug. 30. Enjoy! And do watch for more video excerpts coming up -- floorwork tomorrow!. https://vimeo/103538683 schedule: anahidsofianstudio/eventsdir.html
