I want to express my gratitude tonight to Robin Williams ... Through his work, and play, he was with me throughout the landscape of my entire life from birth until today .. There were times when I swear he made me laugh so hard.. I would fall onto the floor doubled over in laughter .. There were times he touched my heart so deep he brought tears to my eyes .. There were times he inspired me to be more than I thought I should or could.. There were times when he reminded me whats really important (love), and whats really not so important (everything else) When aligned with his creative intelligence he was pure genius ... One of my favorite quotes from Robin was this one: For me the greatest drug of all is creation. Because evolutionary-wise when you create your brain gives you feedback. When you create all of a sudden your brain gives you a little endorphin buzz. Why do you think Einstein looked like that? -Robin Williams I also loved his words as the teacher John Keating in Dead Poets Society: We dont read and write poetry because its cute. We read and write poetry because we are members of the human race And the human race is filled with passion. And medicine, law, business, engineering, these are noble pursuits and necessary to sustain life. But poetry, beauty, romance, love, these are what we stay alive for. . Robin is not alive in physical form anymore however his vast body of work lives on amidst all of us that he touched, Thank you Robin for all you created and left us with, Thank you for being a part of my evolutionary path through your films and stand up.
