I want to give a shout out to Russell Switzer. He was one of the smartest guys in my GCHS class of 78. I was one of the slacking underachievers. He, on the other hand, was very focused and at the top of our class. He went on to excel at GT, USAF, and later as a Delta Pilot. His parents moved away and he never returned to his home county. I havent even laid eyes on him since HS graduation. Nonetheless, when I began making FB comments about my legal battles on behalf of our home community, Russell was one of the first to send a check. Out of the blue. Since then, I owe a tremendous debt of gratitude to many others whove joined the effort. I cant thank any of you enough. Just recently, I went to the mailbox and pulled out a second donation from Russell. Words cannot express how much this means to to me. Here is a guy 36 years removed from his home county with no current ties, yet he cares enough to step up and pay something back. We need more men like Russell. Those recognizing where they came from and willing to give back with no chance of ever expecting anything in return. Russell, I thank you from the bottom of my heart.
