I want to give thanks to Dr. Peggy Elliott for a great real talk featuring Dr. Steve Perry today at WSU Hubbard Hall. The question that I have for residents of Wichita, are they ready for a real conversation about the state which we are in, or do we just want a show? I can only speak for Mary Dean and I have been ready. I did not attend last nights event with Dr. Perry, but based on who was there today folks here are not ready. Lets just be truthful. I applaud Dr. Elliott and Pastor Wade Moore for bringing Dr. Perry to Wichita, I really enjoyed his candid conversation. There should have been folks there who are concerned about ex-offenders rights, to listen to Mr. Norm Reimer who is President of a national organization of criminal attorneys trying to change laws and statutes for people coming out of prison to restore their rights back into society and their communities. Dr. Elliott wants to have a planning section in the next couple of weeks. It will be interesting to see who will show up to support her efforts for us to come together and work in COLLABORATION with each other to do the right thing for our children and our communities. I plan to be there, how about you!!!!!!
