I want to just say that I feel so blessed to have an opportunity to be a part of Samaritan’s Purse. As of 1/1/2014 I will be a Field Accountant in Haiti! I will be there for a minimum of 1 year. I never would have thought in a million years that I would be doing something like this. In fact 9 years ago this month I thought that my world was crashing in around me. I felt like such a failure. I was filled with such guilt that I had brought such pain to my children. But I have clung to two verses in the bible. One is from Genesis 50:20 You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done... (If you havent read the story of Joseph you should its an amazing story about trust and obedience and Gods faithfulness) and the second verse is Romans 8:28 And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who[a] have been called according to his purpose. I do believe that God does work all things out for good... but the key is for those who love Him. 9 years ago I could have gone in two completely different directions, but because God placed Christian friends in my life (true Christ-followers) many of them barely knew me, but they loved me and encouraged me and guided me so that I learned what it meant to have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Over these 9 years I have learned so much and each day I have grown closer to God. I have stumbled many times along the way, but God is so faithful he is always there to pick us up! I feel honored and privileged that I can not only go and help those in need but that I can share the good news of the Gospel and I can love others and I pray that they will see the love of Jesus shine through me! One other verse that has really had an impact on me that I even tattooed it on my neck is James 1:27 Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world I am so excited about how God is going to use me in the lives of the orphans in Haiti and maybe I will be able to see the ones I met last year and the year before. I am going to miss my family and my friends, but I am so looking forward to this opportunity! We serve an awesome God!!! He is my Redeemer and I am so grateful that He has built me up so that I can go out and glorify His name. Thank you, Jesus!
