I want to post some advice, because there have been 2 posts on this subject in the last hour. Congrats on coming to the end of your service, and starting your new life. However, just asking for advice about the job market or opportunities in a specific industry/field or location/city doesnt give us anything to help you. Networking is important and will help you get to the front of the line when submitting your application, but shotgunning and asking for any information is going to not give you the responses you are wanting. To help us get you into the proper HR reps, before asking for any information in a field or a location, ask yourself a few questions: 1) Is there a job that I would be willing to do every day for the rest of my life even if I didnt get paid anything? 2) Is there anything that I did in the navy, either a primary or collateral duty, that I particularly enjoyed or was especially good at, or hopefully both? 3) How important is location and what other nearby communities would be acceptable. If you wanted Chicago, would Champain/Urbana be ok? If you wanted Jacksonville, would Brunswick or Savannah be ok? After youve answered those questions, then come back to us and give us questions based on those answers and we can give you answers you can really use and maybe even reach out to the specific HR rep for that area within a company and the Hiring Manager
