I want to preface my post by saying there is no need for mass hysteria over the Ebola virus. Having said this, we must encourage our governing entities to promote a more aggressive form of screening for this dangerous disease. Checking on whether or not folks have a fever is totally ineffective. Reasoning being the incubation time is on average 14-21 days. This means infected people will more than likely be asymptomatic. If someone already has a fever, theyre very contageous. Its extremely important to note, just like the AIDS virus contact with bodily fluids is the only way to contract this disease. Also, my concern includes patient interviews. The problem with an interview is not all people will admit to having had contact with an infected person because of the stigma involved........This virus is to be cautiously respected by following basic hygiene patterns. It can be defeated but through knowledge not fear.
