I want to publicly thank Senator-Elect Leroy Comrie (formely Councilman) and Assemblyman William Scarborough for their support to Ladydoves Self Enrichment Organization. The Assemblyman William Scarborough may not have been able to give a monetary contribution but he has helped us by supplying toys for our events for our Christamas party for the kids, took time out his schedule to attend and got the local restaurants to donate food to our annual Young, Gifted and Talented event. Senator-Elect Leroy Comrie, while serving as the Councilman has supported us by BEING THE ONLY ONE TO APPROVE US FOR DISCRETIONARY FUNDING. HE IS NOW THE SENATOR-ELECT SO LADYDOVES MAY NOT BE APPROVED FOR 2015. I dont know what is going on but its shame that non-profit organization such as mines cannot get the help that we need to keep our programs running effectively. In order for us to continue the work we do in the community, we have to utilize our own funds and hold fundraisers. I have been holding this inside for a while and its time to come out. I dont know who is getting the funding but I hope that the people in the community is benefiting from it.
