I want to share Gods goodness which happened to me today, August 24, 2014. Our team of mountaineers were set to hike Mount Manabu in Batangas yesterday, August 23, 2014 when something very unfortunate happened. We took the tricycle from SM Lipa to the foot of the mountain. Our bags were placed on the back of the tricycle. While we were at the registration point; and I was about to pay the dues for the climb, I could no longer find my bag full of hiking stuff, trail food, clothes, and most importantly, my wallet with all my credit cards, ATM card, PRC license, other IDs, and money along in it. My whole body instantly weakened and numbness set in. I could not talk nor think straight. I had to rush, went to each barangay and asked them to report to me any lost and found. I left my number to the police station, barangay officials, even to some locals in the hope of retrieving back my lost. Then I started to pray and leave everything to God. Three things came into my mind: that God is in control, that nothing is impossible with Him; and that eveything happens for a reason. Since I dont want to spoil the entire trip, I have decided to push through with the climb. I checked my phone every now and then for any news but received none. I know I was not at my fullest climber-self. But with the grace of God, I was successful to reach the summit, had peace during that camp night, still able appreciate the beautiful sunrise the next morning, and was delivered back safe and sound. Even that time, I did not get any lost and found text. When we had lunch and just about to head back to Manila, my friend, Joies phone rang. It was a call from her friend, Ella, asking if ever I lost my wallet somewhere in Batangas.According to Ella, my wallet was seen under the seat of their family friends public jeepney. The jeepney takes its route to San Juan, ~50km away from Lipa where we came from. All of us were surprised to hear the news. We did not even take any jeepney ride that time. And because I do not have contact information inside the wallet, they had to look for me on facebook. They saw Ella as our common friend; thus, the chance of contacting me. No more bag nor cash inside; but at least, all credit cards and IDs were saved. It is truly a miracle. Im going to meet the person who has my wallet tomorrow. May God bless His soul.
