I want to share some sad news with all our friends. Last night at 7:15, Jaimies dad Ray Schnitzer passed away. Unfortunately, Jaimie received the call during Lexis basketball game last night. Jaimie was next to me keeping the score book as I was coaching. Ray was an amazing husband, dad, grandfather, father-in-law and friend. For over 30 years, he was Vice Principle and Athletic Director at Scotch Plains Fanwood HS and was also the boys varsity basketball coach. He was also the mayor of Scotch Plains for many years. Ray was devoted to his family, friends and students. His students remember him as a second father and someone that impacted their lives tremendously. He was always their for them as he was for his wife Bette, 5 children; Steven, Ray, Kristine, Beth and Jaimie and his two grandchildren Justin and Lexi. I have had the pleasure of being in Rays life for the last 20 years and he was an amazing person. It seemed just like yesterday when I asked for his daughter Jaimies hand in marriage. Ray was currently residing in Melbourne FL. There will be a memorial service in FL this Sat and another in NJ at a date to come. We will let everyone know when that service will be held. I know Ray was there last night guiding Lexi during her game. He was a huge basketball fan. Jaimie and I didnt tell her until after the game but she played her little heart out leading all scorers and popped a 3 pointer right around 7:15 which is when Ray passed. Ray was still coaching the game he loved right up until his last breath
