I want to share this with all the NPUC pastors families. Since 2012, four pastors have died (Rudy Turqueza, Ariel Buefano, Rogelio Undan, & Jeramel Dupagan) and Shepherdess Mila Moreno who succumbed to the BIG C. These co-workers may have ceased from their labors but their good work do follow them. Below is a material which Pastor Simeon Rosete got from his reading and included it in his message to the members of Central Filipino Church in LA. Ive asked permission to share it here. It reminds us about what happens at death and how we should enjoy the gift of life. Consider the following: As soon as you die, your identity becomes a “body”. People use phrases like: “Bring the body”, “Lower the body in the grave,” “Take the body to the grave yard”, etc. People whom you tried to impress your whole life don’t even call you by your name. So live a life to impress the Creator, not the creation. Take chances. Spend money on the things you love. Laugh till your stomach hurts. Pose stupidly for photos. Be like a child again. After all, death is not the greatest loss in life. The greatest loss is when life dies inside you while you are alive. Celebrate this event called life. The wise man admonishes: “Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with your might; for there is no work, nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in the grave, where you are going” (Ecclesiastes 9:10) So let us do what we need to do with all the strength and power that we have. For beyond this earthly life that we have is the grave where nothing happens except total cessation of life while we await the resurrection of the just. *** Dear Sisters In Service (SIs) and Pastors-- may the love of God and His promises strengthen us and give us HOPE to carry on the work He has entrusted to us until we see Jesus face to face. --Delba B.
