I want to start a political party called the Progress Party. Our Platform would emphasize two planks/changes that would absolutely save America in one fell swoop: 1. Completely and utterly outlaw any kind of lobbying of our representatives by anyone whatsoever; 2. We the people being the actual owners of cable television, radio and the internet, could create three cable and radio channels totally devoted to and available free for all legitimate political candidates. One each for national, state and local elections. No purchasing of commercial media would be allowed. All current tests for qualifying for candidacy could remain the same. All access could be fair and impartial by regulation. With just these two changes we would reclaim our country won by the blood of our own people. I promise you it would cause the people to have a restored faith in the idea that those who look after us are truly motivated by nothing else. We would see the disillusioned vote again. Level the playing field for those who arent able to raise millions of dollars to be heard and at the same time eliminate what currently amounts to legalized bribery. We would drastically reduce the amount of money spent on campaigns at every level and with improved technology we could also develop ways to interactively participate better with our government. All of this without requiring a Constitutional change of any kind. Thats my American Dream.
