I want to take a few minutes to reflect on this baseball season as it has come to a heartbreaking end for the Dodgers and their fans. The Dodgers suffered from horrible ownership that nearly drove the historic franchise into the ground. And in stepped Magic and the Gugenheim Group. without the benefit of even an offseason they pulled off one of the greatest block buster trades in MLB history and brought much needed talent to the Ravine. In just their first offseason they brought us much needed talent in the starting rotation. We saw the emergence of a Cuban Native who captivated the country. Whether you loved Puig or loved to hate him he had us watching his every move. Does he need to grow up and mature? Absolutely, but what 22 year old doesnt? We saw injury after injury stifle us to the point we were 9 1/2 games out of first place. Then we got to watch one of the most historic runs in the history of the league. 42-8 over a 50 game span. Everyday brought more drama and heroics. From 9.5 back to 11.5 games ahead of the closest team in the division. It was incredible. And finally!!!! October Baseball came back to Los Angeles!!! But what is more important to me is the impact this year in baseball had on me as an individual. Dodger Stadium became my happy place. It became the place where I got to share my love of the game with those closest to me. I got to take Tonia Walsh, and my brother, Joel Orme. With the help of a friend I got to send my parents to a game. I got to go with Murray Catran-Weitz and Bob. Games with Gordon, each of these more magical than the last. For the first time since getting clean I got to take my nephew to a game and got to spend the kind of time with him I gave up to get loaded. I met new people and forged friendship that have great significance in my life. Julie Kashiwai and Roni Ackles thank you for making every game that much more incredible. I love my home in section fd53. I cant wait for 2014! There is no reason for the Dodgers to hang their heads. They had a magical season. Did it end 6 wins sooner than we had all hoped for sure, but there can only be one Champion. there are still two fan bases and teams that will feel the same heartbreak that we are. I still love October Baseball!!! LETS GO DODGERS!!! #ilovela #awholenewblue #NLCS #NLwestChampions #weownthewest #wewearblue
