I want to take a moment today to acknowledge Dr. Baker and Baker - TopicsExpress

I want to take a moment today to acknowledge Dr. Baker and Baker Animal Hospital in Clark PA. For over twelve years, Dr. Baker and his staff has cared for thousands of Club Pet rescues. I know there is negativity about all clinics and all veterinarians. However, I will say that when it comes to compassion and really genuine care that Dr. Baker has always been a huge supporter of Club Pet. Not only has he helped save many lives that other veterinarians said were hopeless, but he does so because he truly is a compassionate man that loves the animals. It is not just a profession to him. That makes him different than many out there. He has indeed adopted several special need dogs from Club Pet that he cared for. One little beagle had her tongue cut out of her mouth (a portion of it), preventing her from being able to lap food or water. He took her home to care for her over a holiday weekend when I was swamped here and to this day she still is a part of his family. I say all of this because I truly appreciate and admire him for treating and caring for each one of our thousands of special needs rescues as if they were his own. I, in sixteen years, have patronized almost every veterinarian in the Mercer County as well as adjoining counties. I will say that I found that the compassion and value placed on rescue dogs lack with many veterinarians. I am sure that every dog/cat that is seen by Dr. Baker and his clinic are valued. For that, I am grateful. Dr. Baker performed a very intense and unique surgery on our Frank two days ago. This surgery would have been thousands at a specialty hospital. Dr. Baker was very giving to charging only cost for this surgery, actually much less. He donated his incredible talents to fix the eyes of a dog that was tagged for death because of those eyes and the financial obligation that was involved with any other rescue that might have considered helping him. A huge thank you to Christine Spencer who pulled Frank and fostered him until we had room here at CPA...This is an amazing dog. His life is marked for nothing but good, all because of a few people that found value in a big oaf of a black dog that is just grateful to be hugged every morning and get a huge scoop of something really yummy in his food bowl. Today, I am grateful for everyone that finds value in the ones labeled UNADOPTABLE...thank you, my friends..Dianna, Founder.
