I want to take this time to say thank you to everyone for all of your posts , comments, messages, phone calls , cards, food, visits and most of all your prayers and hugs since James went to live in heaven on CHRISTmas day. I truly would love to respond to each one individually, but it would be near impossible, and I would surely leave someone out, which I certainly dont want to do. Just know that each act of kindness has touched our hearts and made us(me) realize all the more how fortunate we are to live in such a loving, close knit community. I will be very honest with you. This past week without him has been the longest, hardest week of my life . The only comfort is knowing that he has already seen Jesus, he is happy and healthy with a brand new cancer free body, and hes been reunited with his precious Ma Shelby. ( he was quite the mamas boy:-) & Pa Max as well as other family members. And its okay he was a mamas boy bc the old saying a boy who loves & takes care of his mama will do the same for his wife is very true. I was very loved and well taken care of and I liked it!!! I think Debra Rogerson Davis called it spoiled!!!!! As I enter this new year without him by my side it seems unbearable, and so I ask for your continued prayers for myself as well as for my children. Our lives are forever changed, but I pray in time we can remember him and talk about him with a smile and perhaps even with laughter , instead of these tears that seem to constantly fall from our eyes. I know that he would not want me or our girls to cry and be sad all the time. He couldnt stand to see either three of us cry and would move heaven and earth to fix whatever was wrong. He truly was our hero . I love you James Wilkes, and I loved the way you loved me for the last 30 years. No one but you could love me like you did..........Ill love you forever.
