I want to thank Nelsy Gomez, President of the Hispanic Bar Association of Houston for letting Attorney at Law Magazine cover HisBAs 26th Annual Presidents Day Gala last night. The event was a wonderful success and was held in the Crystal Ballroom at the Rice. The Honorable Gina M. Benavides, 13th Court of Appeals gave the Invocation & KPRCs Bill Balleza was the Master of Ceremonies. The night started with Juan F. Vasquez, Jr. (Former HisBA President) presenting his father, The Honorable Juan F. Vasquez of the United States Tax Court the Lifetime Achievement Award to a standing ovation. Angelica Alfaro then presented the scholarships to that HisBA generously gives deserving students. The keynote speaker Gilbert Garcia of Houstons Metro was introduced by Juan Garcia, President-Elect of HisBA with Nelsy Gomez giving the opening and closing remarks.
