I want to thank each one of you for your support! Earlier this week a guy said some hateful words for no reason at all. I think I know why it bothered me so much. Ive worked hard at trying to get to where I am now and its been tough so I had to share some thoughts for him and others like him: Mr Critic, I took a giant leap of faith when I quit my secure job and our household income dropped by nearly 2/3s. Where were you when I held my wifes hands in mine as I looked into her tearful eyes and told her everything was going to work out when I wasnt even sure myself? How about the previous years when I was holding down 3 jobs to pay off debt so that I would be in a better position to follow my dreams one day? Or, when I went to ALL those trade shows and didnt even sell enough to cover expenses? You see I didnt start at the top and then go up from there! I have spent many days and nights alone in my shop determined to make it work because I told my wife that I would. There was no one there to force me to keep grinding or come up with new patterns or improve on the old ones. You werent there during those times that I wondered if Id done the right thing as I stared blankly at my workbench, not to mention the sleepless nights. I spent many hours in the field testing and watching how others used their knives so that I could hopefully design something better. I looked but I didnt see you there either Mr Critic! You see, there were many struggles and sacrifices of which you werent available to help out, I know, I looked. So before you speak your mind, think! Watching a couple of YouTube videos does NOT make you an expert in what I do! I persevered and I am one of the fortunate few who enjoys earning a living doing what I do and that is something that I will never take for granted! ~Ruben
