I want to thank everyone for their support throughout the primary race and their vote yesterday. My apologies for my late arrival at the Courthouse, but as always I am father first and Commissioner second. The support of my friends (old and new) and especially my family kept me on the right track. I owe a special thanks to my dear Mother who very calmly kept me faithful and focused. Our kitchen table conversations and the advice I received there will stay with me long after my political career is over. Finally, I owe an apology of sorts to my family. Had your father/son/brother/nephew/cousin not chosen politics, none of you would have had to watch the integrity of the Colbert name and the values it stands for brought into question in a public arena. As it stands however, the integrity of the Colbert family has endured in Lincoln County for almost 200 years, and not even politics can change that. Time to get fired up for November!
