I want to thank everyone who has stepped in and offered their help and support with what we are doing for the 5yr old girl and her foster family. I appreciate KQ2 and FOX 26 News for contacting Tracy Allen, Skyler White, and myself to do interviews to help us get the word out. I understand that they only have a limited amount of time to get the segment in and have to shorten up the interviews to make it all fit in, but I am disappointed in the fact that some of the most important info from what we were trying to get across was left out. A huge part of this whole effort has been put together by Tracy and her staff at her establishments, along with Skyler and Firefighters Local Union 77 being able to add the little girl in with the Shop with a Firefighter event this Saturday. Neither one of their interviews were included on Fox 26 and only a short bit of Tracys was and then a brief mention of Local 77 was added in at the end of the KQ2 segment. Another huge part of the message I wanted to get out that I said in the interview is that this isnt something I have done alone, but I keep getting praise and appreciation for it. I dont deserve the praise and owe it to everyone else who has helped and stepped in to get this thing going. Skyler and Tracy have been such a huge help and a blessing to meet and work with. Lisa Berry has been a great liaison for us to work with and get info on the girl and the foster family. All of our family and friends who have offered to help and share the message and get the word out have been unreal. I couldnt have imagined the response being the way that it has been when we first started this. My wife Betty Hoffman and our kids have been on board from day one right along side me to help. Our focus and energy started with the 5yr old girl, then everyone ramped up the effort and wanted to take care of the 2 other boys in the home as well as the foster parent or parents. This has grown to a scale that I am sure this family will get everything they need for a wonderful Christmas and a comfortable start with caring for the little girl for the future. That was our goal when we started this while being able to take the pressure off the family and ease the transition for everyone. With that being said the last part I wanted everyone to hear was that there are many more kids and families out there like this. If you can come up with an idea to help then you can make it happen with the assistance of others just like we have. If it is just a few dollars or a thousand dollars; it can make a difference if it is all put together. I hope that other people who were like me and have never done something like this before will take the chance at it and see how rewarding and fulfilling it can be. We havent even delivered the main part of the donations yet, but I have already received my Christmas present and dont mind if I even receive one Christmas card. My personal Christmas wish is coming true and what a great gift it has been. To witness this effort all come together will be something I will never forget.
