I want to thank my good friend Cdn Chick (Steph) for directing me to this song!! LOVE IT!! In life we all struggle at times. Do we measure up, are we good enough, are we pretty/handsome enough?? As I get older, the realization for me, is looks are only skin deep.... you can be the hottest looking person out there, but if you dont have the beautiful soul/spirit to go along with it, a kind, gentle, loving heart, who treats others with respect and kindness, then really you have nothing to offer me . I believe we are all beautiful souls deserving of love (unless you are the type of person that is just so dark / negative -even then you deserve prayer to rise above that ). I have struggled my whole life with being over weight, feeling not pretty enough, not fitting in..... we teach our daughters differently and that no matter the size/shape package you come in....what truly matters is your heart and soul! Society, media and the professional world out there shape our kids at a young age what is acceptable and pretty. If you dont fit that mold, you are less than. So many kids suffer depression as a result, are bullied, and turn to substance abuse , self harm and more....it just saddens me! I am a BBW and have finally learned to love ME for ME, because I know I have a beautiful heart and soul! Trials and tribulations through life only make you stronger when you come out the other side! Our oldest has a sweatshirt and I love what it says! KEEP YOUR HEAD UP HIGH BEAUTIFUL! To those with low self esteem out there who think they dont measure up.... remember just that ! ^^
