I wanted to begin the new week by letting all of you know that - TopicsExpress

I wanted to begin the new week by letting all of you know that I’ll be having what they laughingly refer to as - some minor & routine surgery on Tuesday. I seriously doubt that I’ll find it to be anything remotely like “routine!” As for being “minor,” I kinda think that any time they have to make you unconscious to work on you, well, that’s a pretty big deal. On the positive side, my surgeon is tops in his field, which is very reassuring. So, what’s up? Well, for several years now, I’ve had something called a hydrocele in my nether regions. It’s not life-threatening, but it has become larger & more bothersome lately, so it needs to go away. If this condition is something you’re not familiar with, log onto You Tube. There are videos of the kind of surgical procedure I’m in for. If you’re not easily queasy, do check ‘em out. C’mon, it’ll be fun! The surgery ain’t pretty - but my doctor tells me it looks way more scary than it actually is. Uh-huh. We’ll see ... I should be in & out of the hospital the same day. There’ll be a short at-home recuperation afterwards, so barring any complications, I should be good as new in a week or so. If you’re into such things, please feel free to send out calming thoughts for me & visualize steady hands for the surgeon (and no major local earthquakes!) starting at about 1:00 or 1:30 PM (PDT) on Tuesday. It is my intention to arrive home with as many vital parts remaining down there, as I left home with earlier & no problems along the way. I’ve got a form fitting ice pack currently chilling, so with that and some of those really great pain pills they usually send you home with, all will be well. (as well as a new 60-year-old Boy Soprano can be, anyway) Seriously, as I embark upon this latest adventure in vibrant health - not to mention, screaming my guts out in fear & pain - it’ll be a great comfort to me to to know that all of you out there will be sending out lots of positive thoughts my way - or giggling uncontrollably.
