I wanted to share this email from Paul Gaspar-Executive Director - TopicsExpress

I wanted to share this email from Paul Gaspar-Executive Director of the Maine Association of Police, an organization which represents the majority of Maines police officers, to Tr. Aaron Turcotte-the current president of the Maine State Troopers Association. This is why weve all worked so hard at tearing down barriers and in promoting a shared sense of brotherhood and teamwork. Hello Aaron; I wanted to first congratulate you on your new position as President of the MSTA. I know we have briefly exchanged handshakes and quick words, but I wanted to follow up with a firm congrats and my sentiments in looking forward to continuing the incredible relationship we have enjoyed with the troopers for many years. I hope that we can set some time aside soon to have coffee or lunch and set the groundwork for what I know will be many more years of fraternity and brotherhood between us. You can call on me/MAP anytime and I truly look forward to working with you and the MSTA board. Its kind of fitting that the transition took place around the MAP Banquet. It allowed me to start by thanking you, Mike and the entire MSTA board for their support of the banquet and our charities raffle. Your generosity and tradition of bringing guns and other items helped us raise $2,800.00 for our charities account; Money that will be put to good use over the next year. You saw some of that at work at the banquet by our recognition and support of the Military Museum, the Flag Freeport Flag Ladies and the Maine Troop Greeters. All incredible people and worthy of the support for the work they do. It would not be possible without your help and support. I was struck by the troopers from other states who were at Mikes retirement party who came up to me in disbelief that we would have that kind of positive relationship with troopers, let alone making one(Mike) an honorary member of MAP. Given our history with Mike Edes, Jim Fahey and Steve Webster paving the way, its really the only relationship that weve known for the last 20 years or so. With all that we have been through and the roads we have paved together it is crazy to see it anyway else. At the end of the day we have a great tradition here in Maine between us and I know it will continue. Congratulations, good luck and stay safe brother. Fraternally, Paul
