I was 10 years old when I watched this race..one of the most beautiful things Ive ever seen! Im not a fan of modern day horse racing. But this horse ran for the pure joy of running. He did this race in about 2 minutes and this record hasnt been broken in 40 years! Ran his 22 lb. Heart out! Just to let u know how fast this was..the 2nd place horse..Sham broke a speed record too and Secratariat was ahead by 31 lengths I think,?
