I was 16 when this song came out and I just heard it in the shop I went to. So heres another live version of a song that was a big hit when I was growing up. I love your smile by Shanice Wilson was one of those Happy-go-Lucky summer hits but its also quite an interresting song because it sat between the late eighties New Jack swing and the mid nineties R&B and it shared elements of both. Now the nineties R&B had a much rawer overall sound than New Jack Swing and relied much less on Hip-hop. Not going to cry by Mary J Blige is a stellar example of Nineties R&B, as is TLCs Waterfalls And having mentioned that song, it was covered recently by the British act Stooshe who gave it a contemporary sound and one comment for their version said that the person deemed it superior to the Original since the Original was sounding too raw, too unpolished for that said person to enjoy. But to get back on Shanice and her 1992 summer hit, here she is performing it for MTVs Unplugged. Showing once again that autotune is no replacement for good old fashioned TALENT. https://youtube/watch?v=VOjaX9kH5dY
