I was a second grader at a school in lower manhattan. Tower 1 and 2 was hit while I was in class. After the incident and a few hours of confusion, my mom finally found me and told me that she was going to take me home. We live in Queens and the Williamsburg bridge was the way home. My dad was waiting in the car near the bridge and so my mom, sister, brother and I had to walk there. The streets heading towards the bridge were packed with people trying to escape manhattan. As we almost reached my dad, a family pulled their car right next to my mom and asked if we needed a ride.Their car was full, but they said they can make space. Out of everyone on the street, they picked us because my mom had 3 small children. My mom thanked them and told them that they should offer their space to some other people since my dad was waiting just around the corner. Once we got to my dads car, my parents decided to do the same and help as many people as they can. We looked for the young, the old and the tired along the shoulders of the highway, which at this point, were also filled with people trying to get home. From there, we took as many people as we can and as far as our paths stay converged. I still remember that day vividly and so when I saw this video, it bought tears to my eyes. youtube/watch?v=MDOrzF7B2Kg#t=679
