I was a sophomore in high school 13 years ago. School started at 8:30, so I was on my way out the door about 8:15 when Julia Frederick was watching the Today Show and said somebodyd flown a plane into the World Trade Center. I figured she meant a little Cessna or something, and, being in a hurry, I didnt think much of it in the grand scheme of things. I had shop class right off the bat, so we didnt hear much news, but as I was headed upstairs (our school is three stories tall) to Government, Chuck Truman stopped me and filled me in. He was the first person I ever heard say the word Al-Qaeda. We spent most of the rest of the day in Bill Huntingtons Government class watching it on TV.
