I was archiving a bunch of photos from an external hardrive at the house and found a bunch of my old sermons. So, I just finished listening to a message that I taught a little over 3 years ago during a big transition in my life... Kind of cool the way God can use it to steer me today... Here are a few of the main points that I found helpful to me... maybe they will help you: 1. Big Question: Is what I am doing today adequate to finish the race that God has called me to? 2. We live with concern about pleasing others but at the end of the day, I am only accountable to Jesus and the call HE gave me. Stop trying to please everyone else and ask... is God proud of me? 3. Whenever you feel like you are not adequate for the task you have in front of you, remember it was Jesus who gave you your task and HE knew what HE was doing when he picked you for it. 4. Be what God has called me to be... That is what really matters. Am I being true to who HE has made me to be. Dont try and be someone else or do what he has called someone else to do. 5. Stop worrying about failure… live for an audience of one. I love the way HE is able to speak in my moments of need... even if it is from something he had me say over 3 years ago. Whenever I listen to past messages, I discover how much I am constantly preaching to myself!
