I was asked, at lunch, if anyone had Caught me being, you know, gay. (they werent talking about coitus) caught? Really? I was 20 before I realized I was gay, but when I did any closet that remained got cut up for kindling, and gasoline thrown on the fire. I know so many people who are sure that those around them are judgmental assholes, and because of this, they hide who they are. I dont hide anything, and Ive gotten some incredible love from some very conservative places. In addition to being gay, Im also a gun loving libertarian, and Ive gotten some incredible love from some very liberal places. When you decide to hide who you are because youre sure youre going to be judged for it, youre the one making the judgment calls. Youre the one whos decided, often with no evidence, (and no, their political views are not evidence, or if so, theyre really stupid evidence) that person X is so dumb, so bigoted, and so close minded as to not accept you for who you are. There are people who are, but I let them expose themselves, and when they do, I eliminate them from my life.
