I was asked in an interview today about why Palestinians in Gaza are not feeling angry because of Hamas using the building materials for their tunnels and not for building houses and schools? My answer was : why people in Israel wont feel angry about Israeli government spending more money on enhancing its army instead of raising the level of education and health there ? more importantly, why the US wouldnt save the money it support the Israeli army with for sheltering its thousands of homeless there in the US. I still remember when I made it to the US last year, the first thing I saw as I went out of the airport gate was a very old man holding his hat and begging for pennies, I knew he was homeless. I cried as I never met a homeless holding his blanket and clothes behind him. but when I made it to the center of New York, I was surprised by the large number of homeless people there.Of course, that was the last thing I expected to see in the fantasy thats called America! so, why America wouldnt grant money and shelters for these people instead of supporting Israel with drones and F16s? why not Israel stopping improving its military infrastructure and enhance the impoverished neighborhoods in Tel Aviv where the rate of crime and poverty is undeniable?! why?! because the right of self defense Israel never stops talking about is not less important than the right of education and health. security is as equal as food and air. so why Israel would have the right to defend itself while its the occupier, and not the 1.8 million Palestinians living in Gaza under blockade for more than 7 years now?!
