I was at a Yes Aberdeen meeting last night held at Aberdeen - TopicsExpress

I was at a Yes Aberdeen meeting last night held at Aberdeen University. It was an unexpectedly good turnout given Aberdeens abysmal support for Independence. There were 2 sittings of 200 people. This was the first contact with like minded folk since the 18th and It was encouraging to see how eager the crowd were to take the movement to the next step. Many people put their hands up to share their opinions as to how we in real terms accomplish this. It was widely agreed that we need to adopt an inclusive stance to embrace all the no voters particularly Eastern Europeans and Polish since they had been threatened with deportation by no campaigners if they voted yes Older folk had also been intimidated and feared that they would lose their pensions in the event of a yes vote. It goes without saying that all nationalities, Asian and African too need to be embraced in Scotland The way to embrace these voters is to get out into the community and get involved. befriend them such as helping out in food banks or joining the community council. The subject of the General election arose. We have been encouraged to vote SNP at the general election to which there was unanimous agreement. Other subjects were discussed such as more clarity over the currency issue. The need for a Scottish bank of last resort. Acknowledgement of the success we have achieved to date. The need to network and maintain the impetus gained. I look forward to hearing your news keep dreaming the dream : )
