He took her back to Calcutta and they had a lovely home at Diamond Harbour. Mother came to .her home for my birth. I grew with my brother and sister in Calcutta till 1936. The family moved back to our maternal grandparents place sometime in 1936. My maternal grandparents gave my mother a plot of land as a wedding gift Nana had quite a lot of land. Dad built a nice bungalow in 1937 and .this was named CYNTHIA VILLA. Dad died suddenly in 1938, He is buried in the Muirabad graveyard . Cynthia Villa was our home and our childhood a very one till my sisters tragic death in 1947. Mother faced much sorrow which she bore very bravely .She Instilled good habits and manners into each one of us and her own brothers and sister and other family members put in her care. She joined The WACIs became a sergeant in charge of a parachute packing department that packed parachutes for Wingate of Burma, and had the unique that not a single parachute of her section failed.
