I was born in Miami, Arizona. grew up in Bowie, Wilcox, Kingman and Phoenix. My dad was an Arizona Highway patrolman. I have lived in Chino Valley and Prescott also. I started working for Mountain Bell in Prescott, Then followed the job to Phoenix I worked for the phone company from 7/22/78 to 12/31/2005 When I took an early retirement due to health reasons. Now I am retired here in Phoenix and quilt for fun and enjoyment. I donate what I make to the homeless or give the quilts away to friends and family for gifts. I call the Globe area my home town, I never really lived there, however my grandparents did and I always felted loved and secured when I was there with them. I learned a very healthy respect of the desert from my grandfather and when I started to drive, Before the age of cell phones, he told me that I must always carry 2 gallons of water in the trunk for the car and 1 gallon of water per passenger. I always followed his advice even after I got a cell phone. Papa told me that if I treated the desert with respect, and used common sense I would always see the beauty and understand the dangers and be ok. He was right. I know the dangers in the desert, however I also see all the beauty in it. I love Arizona!!
