I was brushing her hair this morning and I glanced up at her sweet - TopicsExpress

I was brushing her hair this morning and I glanced up at her sweet face in the mirror. I noticed that it twisted oddly as if she was trying to hold back some emotion, and there were big tears waiting to fall from her eyes. Whats wrong? I asked. She replied, I am the only girl in our family with diabetes. And the tears couldnt wait any longer. They fell down her cheeks as she turned to let me hold her. We were not talking about our family, or diabetes, or anything really except whether she wanted a braid or a ponytail. Made me realize that as much as diabetes is at the forefront of my mind, and as much as I try to handle the details so she can just be a 6-year-old, diabetes is not far from her mind either. Yes, Sweetheart you are the only girl in our family with diabetes. And you are the only girl in our family with beautiful golden hair like Rapunzel. And you are the only girl in our family who can draw amazing unicorns. And you are the only girl in our family who can sing and dance and play soccer and be silly and joyful. Diabetes stinks. And I wish I could have it instead of you. And I dont know why God chose for you to be the only girl in our family with diabetes, but I know He loves you. And I believe He is writing a beautiful story with your life. And someday, when you tell your story, it is going to bring Him glory, and we are going to see the good reasons why you are the only girl in our family with diabetes. Do you believe that? #preachingtomyownheart #weneedacure #curetypeonediabetes #thankfulforHisgraceinthehardstuff
