I was called for jury duty recently in Williamson County, a suburb of Austin, Texas well recognized as conservative. We all signed in as we arrived. I was one of the first, arriving early. After waiting 20-30 minutes, we were all seated and informed that only a fraction of the number called would be needed so only the first X names on the sign-in sheet needed to stay. If you were defense counsel that day, would you object?
