I was discussing with a colleague the other day and she told me she made a diagnosis of cervical incompetence(when the door of the womb cant hold a baby) in a pregnant lady, she told the couple the woman would need a cervical circlage(thightening of the door of the womb), a simple procedure, but the husband declined, saying hell take his wife to india, unfortunately they lost the baby. Im not against anyone going to India, USA, Dubai or anywhere else for their medical needs, if you have the cash by all means please do. Im posting this for those nigerians who may not have the funds to finance such frivolous trips that we also do those super specialised surgeries in nigeria, viz-a-viz; kidney transplants, neurosurgeries, open heart surgeries, total hip replacements, total knee replacements etc in university college hospital Ibadan, university on nigeria teaching hospital Nsuka, university of Lagos teaching hospital, etc. The health care system in Nigeria is not comatose as most people would want you to think, unfortunately our code of conduct does not allow us advertise in any form otherwise you would have heard of the miracles performed in nigerian hospitals despite our challenges, while urging our doctors and other medical personnel not to abandon admitted cases during strike I also urge private medical practitioners to step up their game, thanks
