I was dragged to the cinema to see the movie Northern Soul... Most know that I hate NS... The music was weak (with no bass) except for a few gems... The clothing naff, although I did actually dress pretty similar in 1972... As for the dancing, Really...? I now realise the problem... It is not possible to get five beats into a four bar sequence and still be back in time for the one.. However...! I thought the film to be brilliant... I totally related to the young mens right of passage through music & dance... There were moments in the beginning that took me back to the camaraderie of my youth & indeed touched my soul... It could have been me... To all those who love to dance NS; 1.2.3.4. - Its easier if you try counting...
