I was explaining to my friend Margie Cannon that I had lectured my 13 yr-old daughter for 5 minutes in the car one day about why that song Rude disturbs me. Seems to me if he wanted her dads permission, why didnt he try harder to get to know her dad and find out what his objections were? And why should a father approve of his daughter marrying just any guy just because hes human? Thats not exactly a high standard to meet. Of course, none of this addresses the fact that for a grown woman, its HER decision that matters, and if shes not grown, she shouldnt get married.
