I was going through my YouTube channel tonight, watching everything Ive posted since I started the channel less than one short year ago. And I absolutely had to share the amazing journey that Jesus has taken me on this year. This time last summer, God had started to challenge me to actually chase after what I want if I want it. I didnt quite know where to begin, except for give him my time to do with what He wanted. The strategies changed multiple times, the hours devoted to practice varied, I pushed through having to practice alone all day and having to practice in my carpeted basement suite in a space hardly big enough to turn around in. Even in moments when I felt very very imperfect, I trusted God and released videos and choreography that I was unsure about. And God of course was so faithful. He gave me idea after idea, strategy after strategy. He challenged me with the idea of the 15 second videos, helped me learn how to market and promote, and pushed me to start video editing when I clearly couldnt afford to hire a videographer every time. He gave me money to attend workshops, the confidence to put out solos for the first time in 7 years, and allowed me to discover exactly who I am as a dancer and choreographer. This year Ive travelled to Toronto, Los Angeles, and Mexico all under the context of dance, and not only learned from amazing dancers in each place but got to perform as well! His faithfulness was apparent in my crew this year too. We finally got in the door with the Rider games, and we went from putting out 2 dances in one season to putting out 6 new pieces, not including the 4 that we plunged into during the summer!! We went from 2 to 10 new pieces in one year! I watched as members of my crew gained confidence in their own choreography and dance skills as they embraced the inspiration of God in their art and passion. Today I post two videos: the first one is the first piece I choreographed for YouTube less than one year ago. The second is my most recent piece that my team did for the summer collab. As soon as I gave Jesus my dreams, my fears, and my insecurities, this is what He did with them. I post these not to brag on myself, but 100% on the Trailblazer of my life, Jesus Christ. As is apparent by video number 1, I started with scraps without Him. Im excited to look back again this time next year and be like look at Team and Dum Dum compared to my new dance! Look how far Gods brought me! If you have a dream, I highly recommend you talk to Him about it. You will grow at a rate of a bazillion times faster than you will alone.
